Humanity in Trees
Ceramic · 2024
This piece was made using recycled clay by using paper and tape to hold up the base structure originally, which I used the coil and slab technique to build. After it was leather-hard and I removed the paper and tape from the inside, I attached coils to the outside and smoothed them out, later carving away at them to make them sharper. after this, I created tasteful holes in it to add deeper levels of texture. once fired, I double-glazed the entire piece with Hot Chocolate glaze, followed by Snowball. The entire piece was loosely inspired by tree trunks, bark, and the human figure.
